Slone appointed to Board of Directors
Jackson Energy members living in Lee County District 8 have a new representative serving on the board. Wesley Blake Slone was recently appointed by the Jackson Energy Board of Directors to fill the remaining term of former Dr. James Ted Cundiff.
Having lived in Lee County for more than 30 years, Slone served in the Kentucky Army National Guard from 1989-1994 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant E-6. Slone graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Police Administration. Prior to earning his college degree, Slone graduated from the Kentucky State Police academy and was assigned to Lee County in 1994. While serving with the Kentucky State Police, Slone served as commander of the honor guard, and early in his career as a trooper, his primary counties included Lee and Owsley. Slone worked his way up to Sergeant and then Lieutenant of Post 7 in Richmond, before retiring as Captain of Post 13 in Hazard in 2017. Slone currently serves as Lee County Emergency Management Director and oversees Lee County Emergency Management System (EMS) and Lee County 911 Center.
Slone and his wife, Jacquline, have two children, Kaleb and McKenzie who are currently attending the University of Kentucky. He currently serves as the president of the Lee County Saddle Club where he actively promotes horse-related activities in his community.
